oil your chassis?
Is keeping the chassis clean enough or should I oil it?
Does anyone recommend any other preventative methods?
or am I just crazy?
thanks

Waxoil is one option
My recommendation is to waxoil the inside of the chassis to reduce the internal rusting then clean, paint and undercoat the external surfaces. There are examples of home-made recipes of chain saw oil and wax toilet rings applied in the backyard (I did that once, worked well but was a real mess to clean-up) and the last chassis I had treated was done by a body shop. In both cases I was pleased with the results. It does leak out abit over time so plan to renew it from time to time but if you are planning on keeping the rig long term reducing the rusty bits (or rusting of the bits) is a good idea.
Cheers, Rob

Frame oiling
Hi
I agree with Rob it is a very important to try and protect your old rover, what ever it is?
If you are a official Rover Landers member there will be a great article with pictures in the spring issue of the club magazine on this very topic.
