Its been a bit more than a couple of months since we picked up our '94 Disco from Don's Rovalution. It has covered bit more than 8000 miles (we have American odometre) including a trip to Overland Expo in Arizona and return through California. We are DELIGHTED with its performance and the great job and fine customer service from Don and his crew!
The 2.8 tgv has great torque and climbs highway grades faster in 5th gear than the V-8 did in 4th. The road trip got us mileage in the 27-28 mpg when speed was in the 90-95 kph range. The poorest mileage was in the California desert with lots of up and down at 70+mph and temperature 95°F. We ran the A/C on max and got about 24 mpg. The small amount of off roading indicates the summer outings will be great.
Don did quite a few other repairs and its really great to have the old Disco with a new lease on life.
Cheers,
Brian

Re: Diesel Conversion
Hi Brian,
Thanks for the info, this is something I would love to put into my DII some day. With out prying too much would you be able to give us a ballpark number on what one would expect to pay to get the 2.8 engine and intallation?
Not cheap I'm sure but when it comes to the time to ditch the 4.6 V8 it will definately be considered....
There is a couple of members who have these engines in their Defenders but you are the first Discovery that I know of, Please keep us updated on the future performance as the months go by.
Cheers, Andy
