200tdi issues
my 200tdi has a problem since I back from a camping trip. Hope you guys can give me some advice.
white smoke is coming out of the oil filler cap and dipstick tube (not enough pressure to pop it out yet). certainly a pressure build up somewhere.
I took out the crank case breather/oil separator and cleaned it well, as well as all the oil tubes, air vent hoses, but still have same problem. and small amount of oil was pushed into air box.
No power loss or white/black smoke from exhaust yet.
engine sounds a little bit nosier than before, I think, but really couldn't tell.
also coolant is a little bit milky inside of expansion tank. but hasn't lose any coolant and don't have overheating problem.
engine has 103k miles.
Is it a head gasket problem? piston rings?
any suggestions?
thanks a lot

Re: 200tdi issues
Probably the head gasket. It is common for them to go leaking exhaust gas from cylinder 4 into the pushrod gallery. Pull the valve cover and run it (a bit messy) and you should see. Changing the head gasket is very simple.

Re: 200tdi issues
Buy an Elring brand gasket. Don't fool around with any other brand. Don't ask me how I know this.
