where to buy parts?

#1 Post by andrewMcF » Sun Sep 09, 2012 7:59 pm

So I was wondering where everyone gets their parts from... I usually get them from Rover Park Boys but he seems to be MIA and not answering emails, the phone or voicemail... I'm assuming there is either a medical or financial issue... :( Rovers North ends up killing you at customs because they use UPS...

Sincerely,
Andrew

I've been dealing with Paddock's and Craddock's in England for more than 15 years. Never had a problem with them. Shipping is by post and not too costly - more than offset by the cheaper pricetags in England. I recently bought a complete distributor (including cap, points etc) for 13 quid ($30). It was aftermarket but worked just fine.

And I've been asked where to get Discovery parts. Series parts are no prob, but Disco...

Head gasket kit and fuel sender specifically.

Series parts? UK Trek and Traction, Rocky Mountain, Nicola Garage (Roverworks), They're all in BC, any others in BC? Have a look in the Rover-Landers Website "Supporters" and "Links".

I've used 3 brothers out of Ontario to good success. The Bakers are all rover nuts and run this out of Peter's Garage -> low overhead.

Hi
If you are ordering from outside Canada you have to ask the parts supplier to ship only by US mail, Royal mail or greyhound. If they use a courier you will end up paying HUGE fees for the courier to supposedly do the custums paper work for you.

Another important process in ordering any parts is to ask the supplier if they actually have all the items you need in stock. If they do not you might as well order direct from England yourself. It will be way faster than waiting for the middle man to recieve unpack repack and ship a part. It seems to take 2 weeks to get the parts into Canada.

I have used these guys with success, just have to send payment via money transfer is the only "difficult" part...... Steve Gregory is my usual goto person.
