Hello everyone.
Anyone out there experienced in driving a 110 5 door equipped with a 3.9 rover V8 and 5spd manual transmission? I am curious to know how well they perform with the V8 as a daily driver. How does the drive compare to an RRC or Disco?

Used to have a Disco II...and now a Stage 1 that had a 3.9 swapped in by the PO.
Don't really notice that much of a difference...other than its noisier now. And doesn't go as fast...or have as good acceleration. Way worse on gas now too.

Ditching the Lucas ems and installing Megasquirt can improve fuel economy... of cause that only works on efi engines, but it's a V8, so who cares :Dtait wrote:Way worse on gas now too.

I would say go for the diesel. I have a classic with a 4.2, and it can be easily outruned by a VW Golf. Granted it is a auto, but I really couldn't see it doing any better with a 5 speed. Not to mention its a absolute pig on fuel.
