What a mess...
Well last Friday my RRC decided that the ground didn't have enough power steering fluid on it, so it emptied itself on the driveway. So I took things apart, and got down to the culprit. A 5/8th return from the pump to the reservoir. Went down to the parts store, and as it turns out, 5/8ths P/S hose is a rather odd size, so they'd have to order some in. So, while I awaited the delivery of my new hose, I decided to remove my drivers fender to tackle the rust on the inner fender. And oh my... After recovering from complete and utter shock, I started poking around with a screwdriver. And once you start poking rust, it never seems to end. So I deceded that it would probably be best to tackle the rust, instead of simply ignoring it. So I started cutting out bad metal, and things kept on getting worse. I ended up discovering a collapsed body mount, which needless to say I was not happy with.

What a mess...
Once the cancer was gone, I started replacing the metal. This is what things looked like once I stopped chasing my welds... I finished off everything by going over the welds with seam sealer, and painting everything with truck bed liner.

By the end, I was left sunburned, dehydrated, and with heatstroke. But on the plus side, I now have a solid corner. But I can't help to think that that was only one corner

Go to a hose store. Greenline Hose - 102 push on is perfect for low pressure PS lines, http://www.greenlinehose.com/_pdf/hose/8.Auto.pdf

Oh, I got that all sorted out. It was just kinda a weird size that they didn't have in stock.red90 wrote:Go to a hose store. Greenline Hose - 102 push on is perfect for low pressure PS lines, http://www.greenlinehose.com/_pdf/hose/8.Auto.pdf

Very nice work! I was looking around for a welder last week (crack in roof rack). Are you open for commissions? It's sorted now, but there's always next time ...
