I've been a bit daft.

#1 Post by oldgravy » Wed Aug 28, 2013 3:07 pm

I decided to join the LR fraternity by purchasing a '60 SII 109 pickup sight unseen from an 89-year old lady.

No, it doesn't run. Yet. But, upon inspection, it seems like a decent project -- was running 6 years ago, frame & bulkhead seem to be in pretty good shape.

Well, it looks like you joined in a first class way. That 109 looks very good and you don't see the pick-up cab very often.

Keep us posted. If you go to www.vanislelandrovernetwork.com there might be a few things that can help you. Obviously this site is invaluable too.

I promise to get back to work on the Van Isle site and update it in the near future.

That actually looks really good. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind us knowing?

Very nice. Sweet looking truck, congratulations. Welcome to the frat, you do know that the new guy has to bring the beer?

@Doc I'm told the new guy gets the free beer to help soften the pain of the restoration bills? I read that somewhere, I think.

@Strange Much less than it's worth... probably. Picked up off of someone who needed to get rid of it.

@Greg Thanks! Not too many updates on most LR sites -- I imagine there doesn't have to be much in the way of new stuff! I'll check out your work, thanks for maintaining it!

Goals:

- Get 'er running
- Strip out all the old crap and find out what needs replacing
- Rewiring, probably (see item #1)
- Heater

It also seems I'm missing the *whole* 4wd lever...
