Remember, it always goes on easier than it comes off.

On my truck, I purchased a 4x8 sheet of recycled rubber, 1 inch thick. Cut it to fit. This deadens the sound and makes a good surface for the dogs to grip to when I'm off-road. And, its removable if need be, although where its closely cut around the roll bar its a bit of a challenge taking it out.

I think bonding to the surface is the big issue. A few years back I had the whole inside tub of my J**p YG (before selling it and going back to Rovers) rhinolined and was very pleased with it (easy to wash, tough, good grip and sound deadening, etc). I had a local body shop do it and they were very careful in prepping the surface... no rust, dirt, grease, loose paint. They scuffed the surface well prior to the application. I am considering the same treatment for my series 3 88 but I think proper prep and priming may be a concern (looks like hell on aluminum boats where it starts peeling-off in patches). I'll probably let the pros do it for me as I want a custom color (to match the rover's paint) but I'd like to hear how the Cdn Tire stuff works for you if you give it a try.
