I'll be interested as well, depending on timing and assuming my rig is all put back together by then. She's almost ready!

Re: December outing
Sounds like we have a few trucks lined up. Now we need a date. Our options are December 8, 14, 15, 21 or 22.
Any of these work for me.

I wouldn't mind doing it on the 14th or 15th. My son would be able to come with me :)

Re: December outing Saturday December 28th 2013
Hi Everyone
How does Saturday December 28th work for everyone? Greg. Rob and myself can all go for a drive that day.
We thought we should try to go up Copper Canyon. So with that in mind lets meet at the Haida Way Restaurant on the South West corner of the Trans Canada highway and Henry Road. (Main turn off with lights down to Chemainus beside the big Antique Barn.)
The restaurant is usually open so breakfast at 8:30 if you wish, or pull up outside (blow horn if it works) and be ready to leave the parking lot at 9:00 am.
There is a CO-Op gas station next door if you need petrol after the long drive up from Victoria.
Bring the usual, lunch, camaras, 2 way radios, shovel, warm clothes etc. This should be a no scratch run as most of the roads up this way are fairly open and depending on the snow level we may not get very far off them. Bring tire chains if you want but when it gets that bad we normally give up.
Again please tell all your Rover buddies as I am only posting the drive info on this web board. Other makes of vehicles are welcome but will have to drive at the back of the pack with the diesels.
See you then. Victor 1962 Dormobile

Re: December outing
IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heres an update. The drive is still on for Saturday December 28th however the Haidaway restaurant will not be open. So we will meet at the Co-op service station at the corner of Henry road and the Transcanada highway (Beside the big antique barn). They do have coffee if you need one. The departure time from the Co-op will still be 9:00 am. sharp for the trip up Copper canyon.
See you on Saturday

Re: December outing
Wish I could see you guys there, Victor. However I have run into a spot of really bad luck on my engine swap so the Rover will be down for heavens knows how long. I have to strip down both engines now and try to make one good one. Also I will be in Nova Scotia during this outing to visit my family so I can't even come along as a passenger.
See you all when I get back!

Re: December outing
Very nice run today, covered lots of miles and no mishaps along the way! 7 rigs, 5 rovers (2 d90s, 1 D1, 1 D2, 1 P38) and a couple of "non-rovers". Weather was great, warm cabin for lunch and some ice sports. Thanks to everyone for the adventure. Some pics available at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/green_rove ... 136810105/
Cheers, Rob

I'm planning on the Founder's Day. Are you going to be wearing the duct tape on your Disco? LOL
