True trac diff locks
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the true trac diff locks in a discovery 2, I had read in other rover forums that with the cdl, traction control, and a set of true tracs there isn't much it can't pull itself through :D

Sure. They work very well with the traction control. If you were buying new I would suggest the Ashcroft ATBs instead. Same basic design but better built. http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk ... t-atb.html
It would be good to consider at least rear HD half shafts as well as this does increase the stress on the shafts a fair bit.

Interesting, the reviews between the 2 seem to be 50/50 is there a Canadian distributor for Ashcroft products or do they have to be ordered from the U.K?

The Ashcroft is better designed and built, although neither will fail. You can buy Ashcroft from Lucky8llc in the USA or direct. Ashcroft's site calculates shipping to Canada automatically, so you can see the cost. They have decent shipping costs and are great guys to deal with. If the Ashcroft did fail, they will work with you. Eaton will laugh in your face as they never warranty anything.
A bit off topic, but if you are going to wheel a Disco 2, it is good to know that the wheel bearing and hub assembly is NOT serviceable and can only be purchased as a complete assembly. An OEM one is about $200. Something worth carrying as a spare front and rear if you are out a ways in the bush.

I'll add that if you do want to save money look around for a used TT. I've always had good luck finding them at about half of new cost. The disco 2 uses the traditional Rover diff so they are common.

I have TT in a 2002 D2 and I love them. Though I have a diesel D1 now........so the D2 sits a lot.
