Fossil Beach Camp out - April 18th-19th 2015
Hi All,
If you have received your wonderful Rover-Landers Newsletter last week you will see we have our first Camp out on Fossil Beach (West Harrison lake) on April 18th to 19th. For those not quite ready for a camp out there will be the option of just being a one day Saturday run. For those hardy adventurous ones we will have a big camp fire and NO rain
More details coming soon, mark it on your calendars .......
Cheers,
Andy

Fossil Beach Camp Out - April 18th -19th 2015
Summer is here! The weather forecast looks very good, 25 degs and sunny for Sat and Sun. (Agaszi)
What - you can choose, a 1 day run or overnight beach camp out
Where - Up the west side of Harrison Lake, down to Fossil beach (approx 30km from the highway 7)
When - meeting at the Subway Restaurant on Highway 7, Mission (34963 Lougheed highway) at 10.00am, grab some breakfast and a take out lunch - There is a gas station (Co-Op) that does Petrol and Diesel next to the Subway. If you need fuel, fuel up first when arriving, departing at 10.30am sharp. Google Link - http://goo.gl/maps/XNnzk
Why - Fresh mountain air, the adventure, beautiful scenery, to relax!
For those just coming up for the day bring a packed lunch (or buy lunch at Subway), bring your camera, family friendly run....
For those camping out overnight on the beach, bring along everything you need for the two days, wilderness camping, no amenities. If you have a canoe, throw it on your roof. We will have a big camp fire at night to keep us all toasty, but dress warm, be prepared. The lake water will be a bit cold for swimming except for the mad dogs and Englishmen!
Hope to see you there....
Cheers, Andy

Hi Andy, I'll try to make it up but might be a little late. What route will you be taking from the meeting place?

Hi Alex,
We will follow highway 7 east bound until we get to the Sasquatch Inn, turn left and then keep straight all the way until you hit gravel.
We will stop there to air down for 15mins so maybe a good place to catch us up.
cheers,
Andy

Post Trip Report
We had a beautiful sunny weekend for our first camp out of the season, nine truck enjoyed a warm Saturday sunshine, seven trucks camped over night into Sunday. A Water Bomber practicing on the lake in front of us added to our Saturday's entertainment and a big camp fire made a nice center piece in the evening and helped produce multiple toasty marshmallows.
A great start to the camping year .............
