300tdi lift pump

#1 Post by JS » Sun Aug 09, 2015 8:16 pm

Hi everyone,

While driving home last week on the highway my 110 started to bog down.
I pulled over for a few minutes to let her gain some idle again & eventually made it home.

After checking the lever on lift pump (in different positions on the cam) it looked like it failed.
I removed the pump to check it & the lever / suction worked just fine...

As anyone experienced the same problem?

Thank you

The best way to check function is to disconnect the wire from the solenoid and open the air bleed at the filter. Crank the engine and you should get a good flow of fuel from the bleed vent.

If the pump is working, I would make sure the filter is changed and blow back the suction line to make sure it is clear.

Replace the filter as well, it may be restricting the fuel flow which is giving you the signs of a faulty pump. Don't ask me how I know this!!
