My Owner's Manual (for the V8 gas pot) says to change the oil BEFORE changing the filter. Sounds strange. Won't the new oil all run out after I spin off the old filter? Would this direction apply to the 300TDi?
Had trouble finding an oil filter. After searching around the net for several minutes, Lordco recommended the Fram PH16. Came up with what I gather is the OEM - ERR3344.
Any comments?

Re: 300TDi oil change
It does not matter really.
PH16 is correct. You can also use PH8A which is longer and a bit more common.
Make sure you use a diesel specific oil.
