Greetings All,
Here is a picture of our newest, old truck. It is a 1961 SII pick-up. I'm taking the bone shaker down to Vernon tonight to drive it back.
I'll be travelling the Trans Canada West to Calgary then North to St. Albert. If you see me broke down, throw me a ham sandwich as you're driving by.
It is totally original with 62000 miles. We'll see if I make it...we're rolling the dice and bound for an adventurous road trip...

We're going to give it a thorough once over and then it will be a company runner. It will go back to the original LR colour and get a few upgrades for power and comfort. We were thinking about throwing a 3/4 tilt on the rear w/ logoing..
Well after a 14hrs bus trip and13 hrs drive, I'm home (tired and stiff). The gear box is leaking a little but no worse for wear. I think I got to 110kph (GPS) going down one of the hills...I was able to cruise 80-90 on the flats. Ran into a little snow and needed to turn off the heater as it was too hot
For a 44 year old truck that really has not seen any serious TLC for a few years it did exceptionally well. It shows that any LR regardless of age is a solid unit...
Ironically the S/N is one number prior to the one we raffled off last year for the Red Cross Tsunami Relief. Now it is just a matter of naming her? Ideas??
We are hoping to get one more truck, an 88, prior to the snow flying. I am just waiting on a return call...
