Valentines Day Rover Drive
Sunday February the 14th.2016
The meeting spot will be the Haida way restaurant on the corner of Henry Road and the Main Island highway near Chemanus.
Come at 8:00 am if you want a hearty valentines breakfast before heading out on the trails. I have made a reservation for 16 folks so please let us know if you are coming or have to cancel out at the last minute.
. We will leave the parking lot at 9:00am.for the drive.
The plan is to head up Copper Canyon and see how far we can get before snow stops us. * Note * Timberwest decides a few days before the weekend if the gate will be open I will check their website 3 days before the drive...... IF THINGS CHANGE I will post it up on here. We will still go somewhere but our start point may change.
Bring the usual supplies something to drink, lunch, maybe a tow rope, shovel, warm clothes and a hand held family style radio if you have one. ( We usually have extras). We also usually have spare seats if your rover is for some strange reason not running.
This should be a no scratch run.
See you on the 14th. So whos coming?

We are interested. Breakfast sounds good. This is a great chance for our partners (wives) to show us just how much they love us.

I'll have to check with the boss (my other half) but I should be good to go (with or without her). I'll confirm this week.

I'll be in Tofino that weekend also so you guys will be spared the blushes of the mighty T*yota as it carves up the trail and ploughs through 6ft snow drifts leaving a trail of Rovers in its wake...
I really need to get my Series 2A up and running...

Hi Everyone
The gate to Copper canyon is definitely open this weekend so we are still on for the drive this Sunday. I will let the restaurant know that there will be a much smaller number of us showing up for breakfast.

I'll be there, a "decorated" defender (don't ask) and SWMBO along for the ride as well!

Re: Valentines Day Rover Drive
Good run today, all coilers, 3 diesel 110's and a nice Disco 2 to add a little decorum to the group. Ran into some snow, a few dead-ends and gates but we all made it back out in one piece and there were smiles abound, even spotted some elk along the way! Thanks for everyone for coming out.
