We took some visitors up Blowdown about a week back.
The alders section has been trimmed back and the road bulldozed for a good stretch, including the scree slope just before the summit.
A bit surprising that they have made vehicular access easier given that it is a very popular hiking trail.
Anyway, it was still a nice drive for the visitors (from Blighty) and they were stunned by the views, and the fact that we still have access to the backcountry.

Re: Blowdown Pass
Hi Eric,
Thanks for the update on Blowdown. I heard there was some Forest Fire damage in the Stein Valley (from last year) starting around the Blowdown saddle area. Did you see any of that? Maybe that's why the road has been improved to get equipment in there.
