So, just like the title says, is the 300 tdi disco alternator the same as the discovery alternator sold here?
I've got a groaning whining noise, and turning the pulley with the belt off doesn't feel quite like it should.
Before I go to all the trouble of actually taking mine apart and changing the bearings, if I can go to Lordco and grab a new one, that seems like it would be much faster.
If I was clever I'd have taken mine off and looked up the part numbers or something. But I haven't done so.

I belive they are not at all the same, but don't take my word for it, it has been a while since I swapped mine out.

Looks like it is not.
AMR4247 for V8 and AMR4248 for 300TDI for the 100 Amp versions.
