So I have been toying with the idea of removing the 4.0 out of my life and out of my DII. The idea of a 300TDi seems like a good idea, and I know Jeremy from Rocky Mountain can bring good motors in. However, I do not have the space to pull-off a drive way swap, or in a garage (I live in an apartment!) so I need recommendations of people that can do this swap if I go ahead and pull the trigger. I'm currently in "research and pricing," stage, as I want to be sure this would be a good move. I would love the help provided by this forum to make this possibly, possible. I just need the correct guidance to be at the right places, and meet the honest people that can do this for me.
My '01 DII is of course equipped with the automatic transmission, and I'm not sure if the 300TDi would be a direct bolt-on. If not, would it make sense to look for an adapter of some sort, or financially be smarter to get rid of it, and go for a manual conversion. Any other pointers would be fantastic to look out for, or consider. I can either be private messaged, or publicly having the conversation, as I'm sure some others think this would be a great idea.

'01 DII 300Tdi motor swap from 4.0.
Disco 2 transplants are complicated as the rest of the truck communicates to the engine and you need someone knowledgable to get everything to work once it is gone.
The gearbox won't work. It is the wrong bellhousing and input shaft. The wrong shifting and torque converter and is electronically controlled.
It is a complex swap and you need to know a lot. In the end it is less trouble and cost to buy a complete TD5 Disco out of Europe.
