Santana timing gear

#1 Post by joshallen676 » Tue Mar 07, 2017 1:16 pm

Hi guys,
So I pulled the timing cover off of my 2.25d Santana today to change the timing chain and much to my surprise I found gears instead! Much more robust I know, but surprising. Does anybody know if this was standard or if the truck has been modified? I know there was a company offering this conversion as a kit when I lived in the U.K.

Thanks,
Josh

It seems the timing marks were way off so either it was assembled improperly or that was somehow the source of my fuel issues
