Series 2a, 1963, 109 Station Wagon, nut-and-bolt restoration. Converted to neg. earth, intend to convert to alternator.
Option 1: Autosparks original-style, plus a few options for work lights, reverse, etc.
Option 2: Painless, with modern circuit design (yay, grounding!) better fusing, more equipment options etc, but a little more work.
Option 3: Homebuilt, using my electrical wizard buddy's skill. Actually never mind, that's insane. Strike Option 3.
Anybody used Painless? Advice?
thanks as usual...

I have an Auto sparks loom for my 61 series 2 rebuild. While mostly good. I did have to spend an inordinate amount of time changing out the connectors for some wires to work on my original equipment. Plus a few lengths were either short or not long enough. I have since upgraded the wiring for headlights. If given a second chance I would have made my own

I put an alternator from a junked Chevy in my '63 2A around 20 years ago. I got tired of replacing Lucas regulators. It was a pretty easy install, built in regulator, two wires. I think it lasted 15 years until I needed to replace it. I highly recommend going for an alternator. Harv
