Nahatlatch Lakes run - Jun 23rd-24th
Hi All,
If there is interest we are looking at heading out on a Nahatlatch Lakes run this coming weekend.
Basically its highway#1 up to Boston Bar, turning west off-road along Nahatlatch Lakes, stopping to take in the amazing views from the Fire Lookout and parking under the thunder of Grizzly Falls at the west end of the lakes. Camping out on the Lakes Saturday night, then head home Sunday down the scenic Kookpiki Valley (if the snow has melted enough) down to the east side of Harrison lake to Harrison Hot Springs & home. If there is too much snow we will have to return back down highway #1,
Let me know if you are interested ??? If there is interest I will post up more details as the week progresses.......
cheers,
Andy

Sorry Colin, we usually avoid Long Weekends, always rains and the roads are all clogged up with traffic! :roll:cbalme » Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:48 pm

Re: Nahatlatch Lakes run - Jun 23rd-24th
Ok, here are some more details of the run this weekend;
What - Two day off-road run in the Nahatlatch Lakes Area
When - June 23rd-24th, meeting at Whatcom Road exit off Highway #1 at 9.30am Saturday morning, departing at 10am.
Where - Whatcom Road to Boston Bar up Highway #1 (1.5hr) then off-road along Nahatlatch Lakes, visiting the amazing views from the Fire Look-Out Tower and the large Grizzly Falls near the west end of the lakes. Camping out on the banks of Nahatlatch Lakes for Saturday night. Sunday we hope to traverse down the scenic Koopiki Valley down to the East side of Harrison Lake and back Chilliwack around 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
What Else - It will likely be hot, bring along everything you need for two days in the Wilderness, last fuel and supplies will be Boston Bar but I would suggest you get everything you need at Whatcom Road before leaving. The forecast is looking good, don't forget sunscreen and bug spray. You can swim in the lakes if you don't mind it a little chilly. Let us know if your coming along .....
Cheers,
Andy

Is there a one-day option? Three weekends in a row camping is a hard sell.

Thanks for all the responses, looks like a good group!
Alex, Yes, a 1 day option is possible, just for the Saturday and head home down the highway Saturday late afternoon. It would make a long day of driving but doable.

Hey Bernie,
What's going on? It was a Toyota last time, now a Jeep ..... Oh boy, oh boy!
Yes, I guess you can come along if you ride at the back of the group and stay out out of the photos :lol: specially any photos of you rescuing stranded Land Rovers :oops:

Post Trip Report;
A perfect size group of 10 vehicles gathered for the Nahatlatch Lakes run, heading up the Fraser Canyon to the Boston Bar, then shooting off into the Nahatlatch Lakes valley. We climbed high up to the Scenic Fire Lookout for lunch. Next stop was Grizzly Falls which happily was in full white water flow and gave the convoy a good soaking as we parked below. Saturday night we camped out atop Pig Whistle Mountain for the cool breeze, then after breakfast we headed back down to the aqua-green lake for a refreshing morning dip into the chilly water. Once refreshed we continued the loop down the Koopiki valley, dropping alongside Harrison Lake east then down to Harrison Hot Springs and home...........
Really enjoyed the weekend, thanks to all those that came along for the ride, let the good times roll!
A few photos here, more to be added in the Gallery over the next couple of days.
