Just over on the bc4x4 page and saw there is still alot of garbage on the trail including the subaru a bronco and a scout. there was a post about the work the ROVER LANDER CLUB DID ON A CLEAN UP!
WELL DONE!
THE QUESTION IS WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO KEEP THESE AREAS CLEAN AND FREE OF SCRAP VEHICLES?
THE MORE DAMAGE AND CRAP LEFT BEHIND ON THESE TRAILS, WILL BE THE END OF THE TRAIL!
THEN WE ALL SUFFER !
NOT A COOL THING !

Yeh the scrap iron is definately a problem. BC 4x4 site has been razzing the guy with the Subaru, not sure if he has been guilted into doing anything about its removal yet. Snow will obviously have hampered any late fall efforts to get it out of there. Anyone with an update? Perhaps one of our runs should concentrate on chopping up one or as many of the wrecks as we can handle. Oxy/Acet. gear, generator/cutting discs, recipricating chop saws. I'm sure we can roust up the equipment, I know I have a sawsall that made fairly short work of chopping up a friends Honda Prelude into managable bits, I just need a power source. Torches are also in my arsenal if someone has some reasonably sized tanks we can transport, my tanks are too large for a field trip. Pick-ups and those with trailers will have to step up and volunteer to pack out the chunks. Anyone else willing to commit?

I spoke with the Princeton RCMP after our previous run in there and they identified the owner of the license plate we recovered, as well as the owner of the Subaru and had a chat with both. But the snow rolled in pretty soon afterwards. The constable said call in the spring if its still there and he will help rattle their chain again.
If we could chop it into manageable bits, we can safely bring up a flat deck trailer to very close to the Lodestone campsite with little trouble, then we could spend a day or two hauling the scrap back to it.
I'd be game, if the snow allows us on the may long weekend.
