Hey Don, Pieter
Nice video, that looks like Hut Lake! Good to finally see the Orange Machine getting some action.

Looks like firewood is restricted the same as fruit for importation. We'll find some between the border and basecamp I'm sure.ANDYD wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2019 8:26 pm Hi Bryan, yes there is room at the Base Camp for your tent. Yes, some wood would be a great idea (is there any restrictions at the border?).
Cheers

Re: North West Challenge in BC for October 4th, 5th & 6th 2019
Looking forward to some Land Rover off-road Fun this weekend!!
A few auxiliary items...
1. Thanks for the nice comments on the video guys!! I'm doing my best not to push Pieter and Leo too hard but keep them engaged in the Land Rover stuff. Someone's gotta help me finish some of my projects! :)
2. Is there an official photographer? Alloy+Grit asked if I could connect them with a photographer for another article like they did 3 years ago.
3. Is there opportunity for spectators to attend and see anything without major PITA for logistics?
Don

Hi Don,
We will be getting the volunteers to take photos as they will be staged at the check points, plus Pamela will be taking the photos at Base Camp. These photos will be shared after the event.
The Challenge this year is not Spectator friendly as locations would be difficult to access and spectators would become a hazard trying to access the areas.
Only a few days to go, lets hope for some sunshine!!

So bring them both. Have one spot in front and the other behind. Then no one will know if you are coming or going..... :rolly:bclandrover wrote: Thu Oct 03, 2019 12:25 pm So, My co-pilot is out with a shoulder injury. Now, I have to choose between my twin boys. Tough decisions!! :!:

I foolishly built a truck with only two seats or I just finished it a few years too soon!!
Another year and it won't matter. Pieter is planning to drive Tweety at next years challenge and I'd be the co-pilot!! :o

Finally unpacked the last of the wet gear and am sitting down to saver my Sasquatch stout beer. What a wonderful event put on with so much creativity and generousity of spirit. The Saturday night dinner was truly unbelievable and the weekend overall was just a joy. Thanks so much to all that had a hand in putting on, or participating in, NWC 2019!

Its great to hear everyone had fun and enjoyed the NWC 2019 Sasquatch Hunt. We focused on the fun side for this years event and everyone who participated and volunteered did an amazing job in making this one a year to remember.
Congrats to Andrew and Richard, the Alberta / British Columbia team that took first place, it was a very tight finish and all 9 teams who took part should be proud :bounce:
I will post the result table below
Cheers

Outstanding weekend - a huge shoutout to all the volunteers who's hard work made this possible.
Andrew thanks for making the drive from Calgary, your previous experience at these type of events is the largest part of why we won. I enjoyed your company and time spent bouncing about in your 90.
It was great to see a wide variety of rovers competing as well as parked.

Three cheers for the Organizers and Volunteers that put in the tremendous effort to clean the campsite, put together the course and events to keep the Challenge running smoothly. Three cheers to the participants running the gauntlet and asking for more!
Saturday night supper was fantastic, putting on a feed that sated the soul.
Flat tires and all,
A huge thank you, especially the Sasquatch sticker, who ever you are that put it there!

Nice picture! Martin did all the chainsaw work to get the wood, I helped load it. I was sure worried that the cake would make it in one piece.
