Has anyone failed aircare due to high NOx (Nitrous Oxide) emissions? If so what was the cause? I also noticed the lack of Landrover dealers who are Certified Repair shops for Aircare (www.aircare.ca) .
Any help appreciated.

O2 sensors.....
Hi Ted,
My RRC failed Aircare a couple of years ago (cant remember what emission was showing high?) but what I did was clean all the spark plugs, clean the rotor arm contacts in the distributor cap, I pulled the O2 sensors out of the exhaust & cleaned them up. I did a Oil & filter change. Put in some top grade fuel & put it back through Air Care......It passed easily by a large margin :D
Worth a try before paying out big bucks.......

Hey Ted,
It is likely your catalysts are wornout, if they haven't been replaced in the last 10 years(factory) or 3-5 years (aftermarket)!!
You should have the vehicle checked out anyways it could be that it running too hot as well. Other engine problems could cause the cataylsts to prematurely wearout as well.

Passes at Last!
Thanks to Andy, Don and Andrew for their suggestions. In the end it was the Cats and new ones were fitted for $600 locally. Not only did the NOx drop significantly so did the other 2 readings.
Had to pull over on the way to Aircare as the smoke (or what I thought was smoke) was coming out the tailpipe so bad I thought it was a diesel- it was the new cats heating up and eventually cleared before hitting Aircare.
Well onto the next problem.
