Guessing this is for a series truck? I was thinking of getting that Exmoor seat belt bar as well for my series for shoulder belts.

If it were me I would be installing a roll cage and mounting it to that. You can get cages that also support the soft top.

Where have you seen roll bars to fit in series trucks , I've looked everywhere on the internet but everything seems to be for a defender .

Hi All:

I put shoulder belts in my series 3 years ago, so long ago in fact that I cannot remember from whom I bought the kit, which included the belts, reels and anchor fixtures, which fit nicely, and are easily-installed between the seat bases and doors. They are unobtrusive, unlike the exmoor item, and work. I have a hard top that I take off in the summer and switching them from the top to the front seatback takes minutes. There are threaded holes on the top of the seat back that take the anchor bolts. They may be covered by a black plastic plug.

Hi Troy: I have the top on for winter now, but I will post some pictures of the anchor points. If you look closely at the photo of the exmoor rig you will see the belt anchor point on the seat back. It's in the same place as mine.

Where did you say it was for a Series? You could make your own or slightly modify a Defender cage.

Yes for a 1964 series 2a, I have seen a couple on some defenders that I like . I know I've contacted a couple companies about their cages , always being told they will not work on a series . Makes me wonder if the height of the cage is different , is the defender tub the same as a series tub ?

I’ve had this picture for years, hoping to replicate it one day for my soft top.

Heights are the same. I think you would just need to shorten the longitudinal braces over the tub. Everything should fit.

Lap belts, I prefer to be thrown free of the landy in a big crash. ;)

Didn't the canvas top military Rovers come with a roll bar ? A double tubed one for behind the driver ?

If you have a roll cage, weld up a mount for the shoulder strap. I believe my roll bar came off an MOD truck, and didn't need the modification if that helps?
