fuel pickup pipe repair?

#1 Post by Colin » Tue Oct 06, 2020 3:57 pm

Looking at my fuel pickup up pipe, the screen is gone as expected, but also the upper portion of the steel pipe is a bit corroded. Does not appear to be leaking yet, but it will down the road. At about $75 plus shipping for a new one, has anyone had luck braising a new pipe into the fitting or perhaps sleeving the old steel pipe? Any other thoughts would be great.

I could braze it for you, however, it would probably cost more than buying a new one.

Thinking of slipping a rubber fuel line over the corroded bit

I have lots of these pick up tubes. Measure the overall length of your old one and I’ll check what I’ve got.
$25 plus shipping

looks better than mine. I am not in a rush for it, so I could pay you and if you know someone coming to Vancouver I could pick it up from them. I can email transfer you the money. I am in North Vancouver
