Lots of wiring but....

#1 Post by philchan1974 » Tue Oct 13, 2020 12:58 pm

My series2a came with this set up. I know this is far from the norm...any hints as to what is going on here? Relays....etc

I’m most interested in figuring out what the cylindrical things are labelled “s” (or “b” I can’t tell) and “I”.

Follow the wires.

Looks like it has been rewired along the way... none of that is typical of a series 2a rover (though it is VERY typical of wiring reworks done by series 2A owners)... like Red said, follow the wires. I also suggest you make a schematic diagram. Personally I'd figure out a way to protect the fuse panels from moisture and check all your connections for corrosion.

I would guess those relays would be “B” for battery and “S” for starter. But who knows what magic has been woven into that loom by a previous owner

If everything is working now, disconnect 1 wire and see what stops working? That will give you a good idea.
