Engine Paint

#1 Post by jpclinging » Sun Oct 18, 2020 9:23 am

Hello All,
I am about to start the mechanical portion of my restoration (body and interior are all done). While I have the engine out I wanted to paint it. I am looking for places in the lower mainland that would carry engine enamel paint in duck egg blue. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Lordco can mix paints to what ever colour you want. You could also call White and Peters.

Cheers

Depending on how picky you are for matching exactly, I heard that Torque n Teal is not too far off Duck Egg Blue and is available off the shelf.

Most machine shops should have the common colors of engine paint. I found Detroit diesel green for mine

I have some cans of that already, just don't want my td5 looking like a "green leaker" .

It's a 72 Series 3. Ideally looking for a factory match.

As Andy already asked What year is your Landrover. The series one engines were painted "duck egg blue " aka sky blue if they had an army rebuild. I have seen several civilian Landrovers with army engines over the years including series two's and two-a's. The paint code for this is BSC British Standard Colour, 381-c 101 Sky Blue . I am not a paint guy but maybe a professional would find this helpful.
