Re: Rover-Landers Squamish Valley Camp Out
Hi Andy,
Just wanted to commend you for organizing another great run. Most post trip comments get posted in the member's only section but I thought it appropriate to let non-members know what a tremendous job you do, as Rover-Landers President.
Andy dedicates hundreds of hours researching and scouting trips so that people can just show up and be guided to some of the best locations in our region and sometimes beyond. He needs to be conscious of anticipating the size of the group that will register for the event and makes sure everyone is shepherded from the meeting point and safely back to pavement.
The huge number of factors he needs to consider include the potential for closed access roads, natural blockages like slides or snow, downed trees, limited space for camping, and contingencies for alternate routes. Andy must factor in the good reputation of the club in how we are perceived by members of the club and the public when passing through First Nations land and culturally sensitive areas. Frankly, the list of responsibilities we leave to Andy's good judgement is longer than most of us are willing or able to bear.
Thank you Andy.
I for one consider our modest membership fee to be one of the biggest bargains going for all you do for us.

Bill, I echo your thoughts. You brought up some excellent points about preparation and planning. Andy has done a great job with all the runs that I have participated. The membership fee is well worth it the past 8 years that I have been a member.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the kind words, as long as you guys keep coming out, I will keep organizing the adventures :D We are lucky to have such a vast "back yard" to play in and a great crowd to share it with.
Trip Photos and videos including drone footage now posted in the Gallery. (Click on the thumbnails to see full size photos and videos or use the "slide show" function)
