New Arrivals in trouble!!!
As posted to the VanIsle list...
David and Lynda Harrison have recently arrived from England with their
three children. I don't think they have been here a month yet. They
have rented a house in Cowichan Bay and the children (age 8? to 12)
are slated to go to School in Cobble Hill/ Mill Bay in September.
I just talked to Lynda and she told me David had a massive heart
attack yesterday. He hadn't been feeling well so went to the hospital.
He had the attack there and it sounds like they had to use the
defibulator to keep him with us. He is presently in hospital in
Victoria. No visitors yet as far as I know.

Many of us have conversed with David on this forum, under his user name of dchsw, and several of us have gotten to meet the family since their arrival here. Our thoughts go out to them all. Greg will hopefully be able to let us know his progress over the next few days.

As of yesterday they still hadn't determined a cause, they are still testing. He was up out of bed, just for a short time and they are working on getting him past pneumonia now.
Still no visitors allowed except family. (They are letting the kids in to see him.)
Lynda is appreciative of the offers of help but doesn't know what to ask for at this time. Because he seems to be out of any immediate trouble, she is noticing the stress on her. She is concerned about what to do with/ about the container with their Land Rover and household goods. David had been dealing entirely with that. (It is currently stuck in Montreal by Agriculture Canada because they are trying to find documents that the Land Rovers were properly cleaned before shipping (Mad Cow), or they are re-cleaning them.)

Container Help...
Greg,
My container has been stuck in Montreal for the last three weeks waiting for Ag Canada. Actually the CFIA, Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
There should be no documents required. I had my vehicle cleaned and it really didn't matter. They just want to have a look.
They finally got it inspected on Thursday and for $50 it got realeased. ETA Vancouver July 9th.
Greg, If Lynda would like some help with that end I would be more that happy to take that over for her. Please pass on the message. I have made many new contacts in the process.
Cheers,
