Well, here in Vancouver, there already a lot of new Defenders driving around. The Richmond Automall dealership has a couple of them outside to look at, both 110 and 90 versions. They look nicer in person than on pics, but you can tell just by the wheels and tires that they are meant to be used just on the street. I would not consider them a real successor of the classic Defender, but if I was looking for a regular SUV and had to decide between a Discovery or Defender, I would take the Defender. But for replacing a classic Defender, Land Rover unfortunately doesn't have suitable replacement. I think the Wrangler and Bronco are taking away some potential buyers from Land Rover. They just don't have anything in their lineup for enthusiasts that are looking for a customizable off roader. And now the Ineos Grenadier is coming to Canada as well, so that will shake things up a bit as well :)

I agree, they are not a serious successor to the classic defender....LR is only capitalizing on the "old" Defender reputation and name with the new lineup....a lot of fluff and not much "grit".
Similar to Ford and the new Bronco lineup......and Jeep!
I suppose that is why there is such a huge following, interest, and ownership in the older Land Rovers.
