Crow and Gate lunch Pub meet Saturday August 20th

#1 Post by island dormy » Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:01 pm

Hi Guys

A few of us are heading up from my place in Duncan at 10:00 am. Saturday August the 20th via the scenic slow backroads for lunch at the Ole British style Pub called the "Crow and Gate" in beautiful downtown Cedar (kind of behind and East of the Nanaimo airport on the old coast road).
Join us if you can the food is wonderful, the Scotch Eggs are to die for. We should arrive up there around 11:00 am or so. This place is so popular they do not take reservations, but we should get in, they open at 11 bells.

So you there.

I am in Cedar. Had I seen this earlier (I take it you meant Saturday the 19th) I would have brought my new to me 1973 Series III

Hi Tellam

Yes I did mean Saturday the 19th sorry my mistake. I was trying to organize 2 drives and a lunch all on the same weekend.

So as we were driving up to the pub on the back roads (on Saturday) we saw a very nice blue or green series 111 rover driving towards the main highway. Was that you?

Victor

The next event will be the Lighthouse fall fair on September 2nd this is organized by the old English car club Nanaimo branch and a bunch of us rover guys tag along for the day.

No, not me (unless someone borrowed my Series III!). I was away until today.

Look forward to the next event.
