200TDi cracks

#1 Post by oldgravy » Fri Nov 22, 2024 4:01 pm

Hello, Internet hive mind.

I have a 200tdi head currently sitting at the Lordco machine shop. It's passed a pressure and vacuum check. However there are some small cracks that appear around one of the cylinder's injector / glow plug ports:

Question: Do you think I can get away with this or is it just likely to spread and cause trouble in a year or two?

Would be highly advisable to replace the head. No point installing a broken cylinder head.

That is fine. Cracks between the valves are an issue.

Thanks for the opinions, fellas. 200tdi heads are no longer available so before embarking on a rebuild I thought it wise to check.
