January 3rd Snow Run
Happy Holidays and New Year Roverlanders!!
We are planning on having a Snowflake chase next weekend January 3rd
It'll be in the Cowichan area either towards Cowichan Lake or Mt. Breton
Meeting at 9:00 with a 10:00 departure time, we should be back on the tarmac by 4:00 PM
(Will confirm meeting location tomorrow December 28th)
Meeting at the Haida Way Restaurant off the highway in Chemainus, come at 9:00 if you’d like breakfast!
It is highly recommended to bring a shovel and a tow strap, along with shackles rated for you vehicle.
If a modern vehicle is coming, please make sure that the recovery point is accessible.
Please let me know here on the forum if you are coming. Looking forward to a great time!

Rob and Lisa will be there… if I bring the Range Rover does that qualify as a modern vehicle? Asking for a friend :D

The Haida Way opens at 9:00 AM for breakfast, so we will meet then for the breakfast and shoot for a 9:45-10:00 departure.

Re: January 3rd Snow Run
OK… I’m in (as of this evening at around 1800, sorry for the late notice).
I had a problem with my diff lock not engaging. I wiggled my hand up there from below and gave the set screw two turns. It now engages really well, but sometimes the light flickers when its supposed to be dis-engaged. I’ll give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes.
Looking forward to it.. haven’t been out on the trails since last year!

Re: January 3rd Snow Run
Thanks for a good day out everyone.
Glad we did it and glad we got farther than the side-by-sides who were so keen to get past us. The wet snow made progress slow and challenging in a few spots, but no major hic-ups and no winching required.
Looking forward to the next one.
Happy New Year!!

Howdy Stephen
Thanks for the pics very nice.
I could hear Rob (mostly) and Colin (occasionally) over the radio in my garage way down in East Duncan.
It was great having breakfast with you all...............looking forward to the next event whenever it may be.
Maybe a Land Rover coffee meet up in Parksville at the 356 Cafe? They supposedly happen once every 4 weeks?
Talk soon Victor
