anyone put a series 1 86" or series 2 gas tank in an 80" for more capacity? if so? how? looks like it would require serious frame relocation?

Re: series gas tanks
Hi, I haven't done it but I would think the extra work wouldn't be worth the gain of the extra 2 gallons.
It would have to be a 86" or an earlier 88 tank to keep the filler cap under the seat.
I would suggest keeping it original and carrying a 5 Gallon container for longer range.
Let us know what you decide and how it goes,
Cheers

Re: series gas tanks
does the funnel and cap from the series 2 fit the series one tank?
