April and I were on our way to Moab when the engine  on the Dreamcatcher (the 110) packed it in going up the hill outside of Boisie Idaho we rented a big U-haul and towed her back home.
It is now the right time to convert her to a diesel. I am looking for advice and information as to my options on the different diesels out there, I want to do it right, hopefully a engine with a turbo that will match up to the LT 95 tranny.
Hopeing to do most of the work myself I'm not a mechanic but willing to learn more.
P.S Bill and Staurt made it to Moab hope they are having fun. thanks for all their help on the road.
Bernie

new motor
Sorry to hear you didn't make it to moab.
I heard that Stuart bought a 200 tdi on ebay, it may be for sale ;)
I would go for somthing like a 200 or 300 tdi, if I could afford it.
I was never really happy with my 2.5 NA and the early 2.5 turbos can be unreliable, from what I hear.
What did you have in it before?

Hi Bernie,
Sorry to hear you had a breakdown
But you're right, probably the right time to swap a diesel into it.
My suggestion... 200 TDI if you can find a good used engine. Otherwise I'd take a look at the 2.8 tgv
Here's a couple of links to explore...
used engine supplier: http://www.cws4x4.co.uk/engines.php
conversion kit supplier for 2.8 tgv and 200 tdi: http://www.mdengineering.co.uk/index.ph ... y&cat_id=2
Cheap MOT failure Land Rovers on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/l3stu
International Engine 2.8 web page: http://www.nav-international.com.br/Mot ... oma=2&Id=5
Happy hunting.
Dave

Hey Glenn thanks for your thoughts
The engine that is in the truck is a 3.5 V8 with S.U carbs, I am hopeing to put a 200 or 300 tdi. Would like to stay way from anything that has any kind of computer attached to it. Also want to keep the LT95 trany if possible.
Dave thanks for the links great info.
PS Talked to Bill this morning they all had a great time down in Moab over 100 landrover turned out. Staurt and Bill were heading over to Lake Tahoe on their way back home. :D
