RTV Trials - Fall 2006

#1 Post by DaveB » Sat Oct 28, 2006 9:37 am

November 19th, 2006 will be our annual Off-Road Trials Event. The site is booked — and so is the outhouse this year! This event is open to all Land Rover as well as Non-Land Rover participants (you don't need to be a club member to join us — or to win). Please click here for details and registration.

Just like last year, we will need a ton of volunteers to pull off this event. Please email me direct if you can help out either on Saturday, November 18th setting up, on Sunday, November 19th at the event or both.

thanks, Dave

Dave,

Maybe an idea to provide a link to the registration and event information from the events calendar.

We now have 10 signed up participants. We'll be needing a few more volunteers. I'm hoping we can get up to at least 20 participants, though.

I had trouble gettiing the calendar link to work, but at least added some detail there.

You'll have to come and see.

The courses are usually none damaging but certainly a challenge for even the most seasonned veteran. It's about knowing the size of your vehicle, how it will move and react over different terrain and the ability to keep traction and keep moving all without touching the gates(bamboo poles).

The course won't be set until The Saturday before but expect lots of mud and deep water.

Have a look at the pictures from last year, the course will be at the same location. http://orca.bcnewsgroup.com/gallery/trials2005

Later,
Don

So have the entries stopped coming in or is the list just not up to date?

They're up to date. We have about a dozen entries at this time. I'm hoping for more... keep em coming, folks.

We now have 14 entries and a half dozen volunteers. It's now time for all of you lurkers to get off yer butts and sign up!

From the sounds of the weather this week, we should have a rather muddy time next weekend. don't forget your gum boots.

Wow that was a bit of fun. Thanks to all the volunteers & Rover Landers and of course the great variety of participants. Big thanks to the recovery vehicles owners/operators all safely done, very nice job.
