Take it to Keith in Langley (604-882-4792) and get him to put it on his computer. He's the least expensive and most patient I've come across at narrowing down these problems.

Get an ODB 2 READER WILL RUN YOU ABOUT $150.
Can tire have them good place to start. I have a 96 and all I needed was a new gas cap.
If you are in the down town core you can use mine.

Cheers

On my 97 Disco the 'Service Engine' light is an emissions reminder light which is automatically illuminated after a certain number of miles have passed. This light is to advise you to have the catalytic converter and other emission control systems checked, current milage135K.
To reset this light, service engine you need to remove the passenger-side kick panel. Inside you'll see an brown box 1.5"x 1.5" x 1" with 'Emissions reminder TRW' and the Land Rover logo on a label on the top. Take a long thin object (a piece of wire for instance) and poke through the the label a "0" philips works. Push the wire home then remove it.
:D You've now reset the reminder! :D

Glad to here you figured it out did you get a reader? Best thing i ever did was get that reader no more guessing on what might be wrong.

Cheers

First post should say "SERVICE ENGINE" :? not check engine lite. :?

I talked to Keith, with the service engine light on it is just a reminder to have the emission related service checked out. Not applical to NAS vehicle.
If the chech engine light was illuminated then it would require a reader to read codes. I have an appointment next week with Keith :)

A reader is on the wish list!

The D I only has 14 lights in the barnicle.

How many in a D II?

How many in a R III?
