DIY rear tank for exmil 90

Thought I'd throw some pics up of my rear tank I made up for the 90. It holds 40L and uses the stock fill point with a Y welded in to fill either the stock or rear tank. I used GM electric fuel switches for switching between tanks.

I think that I will weld up an angled plate for the back edge of the tank so that it rides up over stuff easier when backing up in the rough stuff.

Geez, I don't know, do you think it's strong enough ?:roll: Looks like you stole the design from some sort of Belfast patrol vehicle :wink: Definately some sort of angled plate for backing up would be useful, maybe a piece of 1"X 10" flat would do the job :) Just kidding, looks like a nice addition for doubling the range of your 90. Show us a picture of the other side so we can see how you dealt with the exhaust.

Check out Andrew's recent picture postings to his slider thread and you will see that his exhaust exits out the side ahead of the rear wheel.

Yeh.... I went a little nuts with the matterial I used :oops: 1/4" 3x4" angle for the main frame. It is plenty strong to land the whole weight of the 90 on it now I think :wink:

That is a serious piece of work!

You wouldn't happen to have the GM electric fuel switch part number handy would you. I am going to put an aux. tank in my 110.

I don't have the number handy but I got them by going to the local auto parts store and asking to see what they had for fuel switches. These ones where the cheapest at around $50 each if I recall. I used one to switch the feed lines and one to switch the return lines. As long as you always drained the same tank first you could use just one.
