To be truthfull, I don't think you can buy fireworks anywhere up here
at this time of year. I think it is a Halloween only thing. There is
a GREAT fireworks display put on in the Victoria Inner Harbour for
July 1st. Plan to walk a long way from a parking spot to the harbour
and a long crowded route back when they are over. The display starts
just before 10 and is well worth the wait and hike.

Hamish and I are sending this note of appreciation to all V.I. Rovers
for such an enjoyable weekend. Our dandy Landy felt right at home
amongst old (and new) friends, as did Hamish and I. Enjoyed the
Sutfin's hospitality, the events, the brotherhood (and sisterhood) of
Land Rover people and the treks, especially the treks. Next year has
already been pencilled in on our dance card. It was great to meet you
all, let's keep in touch and get together for some trekking in the
rest of the year too.

and there, was in the DR for a few weeks, then in and out of Nanaimo
while going on tactical shoots and courses.
I wished I could of gone! Saw a red hippo in the pictures...a 3 door
to boot! NICE! Was there mudding involved?
Hopefully there shall be an exhaustive write up by somebody and put
to topical island website?

Thank you, Jim, for giving me such a great lead in! Congrats are
definitely in order for Greg, his family and everyone who attended
the Laager - I sent off some very preliminary photos and a brief
synopsis of the event to LRW yesterday morning and I am guessing they
were rather impressed. They promptly replied that they want the word
count a third higher and they are bumping the total pages from 2 to a
more respectable 5 to fit more photos! And as an added bonus, they
gave me 2 more days on the deadline...gee, thanks...
As for info, I will be contacting individuals in the next day or so
and might ask to borrow a few photos of events that I missed if that
is all right. I have emails or phone numbers on everyone I think.
I also want to thank everyone for making this 'newbie' feel so
welcome and accommodating my strange requests for photos and info -
you have all been very patient with me ;-)

My girlfriend Joan had taken her diamond pendant off to put on some
sunscreen and thought that she had placed it in her fanny pack but must
have gone between her pack and her trousers and fell onto the grass
between where the trucks were parked and the mud pit. If anyone has
found this would you please contact me on my cell phone at 250-217-7282.

You can count me in now for the Shell Station Convoy ! Suddenly I
don't have to work until 2PM Saturday night, so it looks like I'll be
coming up with the group for a few hours to chat and show off my
NEW? 1995 Series I Discovery. It's a vast improvement ride wise over
the old girl BUT! I do so miss my 56 Series I, well at least it's
still a Land Rover!! (Perhaps we could have a moment of silence and
bury the front bumper in the mud pit as an memorial to the passing of
the old girl 1956 - 2006 RIP ) also I'm off Sunday now, so I'll be
back for the run!

You can count me in now for the Shell Station Convoy ! Suddenly I
don't have to work until 2PM Saturday night, so it looks like I'll be
coming up with the group for a few hours to chat and show off my
