I am considering a 92 RRC with a damaged transfer case. A 1988 RRC is available as a donor vehicle. Is it easier to convert the 92 transmission to the older transfer case or would it be easier to swap the whole tranny and transfer case together from the 88 to the 92?
Thanks, Rob
RRC transfer case swap?

Rob,
as long as it has the same borgwarner tcase then the swap is easy to just to do the transfercase.
I think Greg S on this board also has a tranny and tcase he may be willing to part with.
is the 88 a parts vehicle? i may be interested in some parts.
cheers,
Reza

hmmmmmmmm
I swapped my borgwarner for an LT230 in my 1993 rangie and it was a relatively easy swap as you just need the lt230 shifter and the front shaft is a different length and sort some simple wiring out but its not hard if you have a moderate mechanical knowledge.
