Footwells - Series 2
General question - where do you guys like to get your replacement footwell panels? I think i may be able to get away with just the centre part of the footwell being replaced. What have you used/ordered to complete?

How bad is it? If you have the frame off you can weld in a replacement. On my passenger side I cut out the bad section (fairly extensive section) and bolted in a piece of sheet steel that I bent to shape. It will last at least as long as the rest of the vehicle, and I think it looks pretty good. The drivers side hasn't gotten bad enough to bother with yet.

There’s generic foot wells available from Jermey at Rocky Mountain Parts or you can order the fancy foot wells with the correct ribbing/reinforcement from eBay.

Footwells - Series 2
I’m just trying to decide what the best course of action is here. The footwells are not too bad. I can see them being easily replaced. I’d like to do everything in situ if possible as it’s not a full restoration.
Trouble is the door rails/posts. They are in generally good condition except for the lower 3 inches.
Thoughts ?

The" 3 brothers Classic Rovers " have all these parts also , a Canadian company and very friendly to deal with. Ships in about a week most times.

Actually Jeremy has fancy and basic repair panels. He also has the bulkhead uprights (I saw some in his shop a few months ago).mepham55 wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 11:52 am There’s generic foot wells available from Jermey at Rocky Mountain Parts or you can order the fancy foot wells with the correct ribbing/reinforcement from eBay.

Rocky Mountain is a local West Vancouver based company. Jeremy is very personable and is able to source virtually any parts you require. 3 Brothers is Ontario based (they are also nice people :bounce: ).RobinS wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 6:05 am The" 3 brothers Classic Rovers " have all these parts also , a Canadian company and very friendly to deal with. I just prefer to support local vendors whenever possible.

Sure Jeremy might have all that stuff and more. But can you find it by the click of a button on his website. Where as Threebrothers you can see everything they have right there on the website.bsa_m21 wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 10:12 amActually Jeremy has fancy and basic repair panels. Maybe Jeremy just needs to update his site to show all he has to offer, to make it easier for us to "shop local"

That still isn’t all the Three Brothers has either, but it is way better than having no online ordering capability.franko wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 9:37 pmSure Jeremy might have all that stuff and more. In general, most Canadian businesses have poor websites, with most having some company info and little more. Those with online ordering are in the minority. I personally will tend to reward those who let me order online as it is simply way more convenient for me than having to phone and ask if they have a certain item or items in stock. In the current world, poor websites and lack of online shopping is giving up a great deal of sales.

Footwells - Series 2
Thank you. I was just about to try and pull this thread back to the original question. :)
Agreed - Jeremy has been responsive and I like to shop local if at all possible. But I do like being able to see before I buy.

You'll be buying enough stuff that I wouldn't worry too much about whom to support.
I would suggest though that shipping on those bulky items might be a pain in the ass, so maybe visiting Jeremy for large and expensive things is the way to go.
I would note, apropos of nothing, that another really excellent Canadian company called Shopify makes this pretty awesome software you can use to sell stuff.

Re: Footwells - Series 2
I have to agree on large and bulky items, shipping adds up quick so local makes more sense than ease of online shopping. Footwells are bulky and awkward, easily damaged if not packed well, so local is the obvious way to go if you can.oldgravy wrote: Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:04 pm You'll be buying enough stuff that I wouldn't worry too much about whom to support.

Re: Footwells - Series 2
Just a question. When replacing the bulkhead upright - what gets put back in so the door hinge et al has something to screw in to? The original have a captive nut but the new ones I have seen do not. Is this extra?
