Advice on Master Cylinder connection
As I was refurbishing the brake and clutch master cylinders (i.e. replacing because they were very old) I managed to snap the flared end nut (the line was rusted into the nut not allowing it to turn freely). Should I just reflare the end with a new connector or do I need to run an entirely new brake line?

If you have enough line and the line is good everywhere else just reflaring is fine.

I’d check the rest of the line to ensure the rest of it isn’t in poor shape before deciding what to do. What year and model of Rover? Also, remember that Rovers use European style bubble flares. You need to use the right flare tool and right threaded ferrel.

That's a good question. I am not sure what year specifically because I think it's been cobbled together. If I were to guess...63-64 2A.
Is there a way to confirm what type of flare/ferrel is needed? I am planning on replacing both masters - clutch and brake - with britpart aftermarket.

I wouldn’t mess around with old brake lines. You can order a new, pre made line for a reasonable price.philchan1974 wrote: Fri Dec 04, 2020 8:18 am That's a good question. I am not sure what year specifically because I think it's been cobbled together. If I were to guess...63-64 2A.

You could try Jeremy at Rocky Mountain parts or 3 brothers in Ontario: http://3brothersclassicrovers.com/3bcr_ ... ml#Automec

Rocky Mountain supports our club, so I suggest you start with them.

Auto supply shops sell brake pipe in 25 foot rolls. Easy to make your own provided you have a flaring tool . I made all my own , keep in mind most aftermarket parts use a standard flare. The genuine Rover parts use a bubble flare. I saved all the nuts off the original pipes and reused them where required.

Re: Advice on Master Cylinder connection
If I am replacing the entire master cylinder does this still require this “bubble” flare?

If this is an aftermarket part I would ask your supplier
