series 1 solex 32 pbi /2 carb information
Hi, I'm renewing the diaphragms in the accelerator pump on a 1956 32pbi/2 carb, the pump has 2 sections a jet pump and a pressure pump, on dismantling I found that the diaphragms were doubled up,eg.2 for each section which I thought unusual. ? is this standard landrover practice, as the manual doesn't state one way or the other, or is this someone just being cautious, I would assume that only one for each section was necessary, any helpful info would be appreciated, as I don't want to add unneeded parts. Cheers

The Series one Diaphragm’s are doubled up on original Solex parts, not sure why! Maybe it was a thickness thing. I ordered a sheet of diaphragm material in the correct thickness and cut 2 new one’s for my series one Solex to match the originals. I haven’t run it yet so I don’t know if it works.
