So my LR3 has the H&K speakers + logic 7 (yippee fiber optic). From all the research that i was able to dig up is this harness:

Question is does anyone know who has these locally love to support local, by the sounds of it Ill have to probably order one from the UK.
From what i have read keeps the upper 4x4 screen active which is key and has almost seamless integration (nothing is seamless), replace the factory amp to power the rear sub and should be good to go. Haven't picked a head units definitely something with Apple car play.
Old one is just disintegrating, buttons are pooched and falling off.. Time to upgrade
Anyone else with a LR3 done a head unit upgrade? Am I missing anything?

Hey Colby,
Have you had a look at Navtools? You can get screen mirroring and Apple CarPlay in one.

Not a bad option never thought of it to be honest. Was thinking of taking the plunge due to buttons falling off and yea time for a replacement for the old head unit.

Re: LR3 - HeadUnit upgrade
I have decided to bypass my amp altogether. It failed and instead of getting a 15 year old replacement, i am running a new amp and a new head unit. I don't have the screen like you, so for you it gets a bit more complicated. There is a MOST loop that you can buy, but I only have a few MOST things connected. I plan to run RCA to the amp and connect the existing speaker set up.
I am willing to give up my steering controls. etc.
I look forward to also adding a back up cam.
THere is a METRA fascia kit but it's pricey (like $500+). I couldn't be bothered - ordered just the fascia plate from the UK. I'll do the rest here.
