I have had this problem in my 93 rangie and a squirt of wd40 seemed to do the trick in my case so give it a go.

Stuck Key....

#2 Post by ANDYD » Fri Mar 03, 2006 11:40 pm

I remember reading that this is related to the gear shifter, trying pushing your auto shifter all the way forward & removing the key then (see if its any easier to remove)? Even wiggle your shifter around in Park while pulling on the key.

I also read that there is contacts at the end of the ignition switch barrel that can be shorted out by flooding with WD40, so if you use this, use very sparingly :!: Maybe a non-conductive silicone lubricant would be a safer option?

good luck, let us know how you get on,

Andy
