Anyone with a hydraulic press near Langley?

#1 Post by scraig » Tue Jan 18, 2022 6:09 pm

I am changing out a rear wheel bearing and wondering if there is anyone in the Lower Mainland area that could help press out and in the wheel bearings? I have the hub off and will have parts in hand for this weekend.......

Hey thank you but I am not expecting the new bearings to come in until Friday - can I touch base with you once in hand? Is the weekend an option?

If you want to bring it by the house, im around Friday and Saturday, i dont have a hydraulic press, but i do have a 1 ton arbor press in langley, that being said i did mine with a set of punches and an old race cut apart to give it clearance.

I bought one of those cheap benchtop presses from KMS tools. I think mine is 6t.

I am recovering from covid still but if you want to borrow my press I can leave it stashed around the side of the house? I am in Cloverdale.

Thank you to all of you with offers to help - I truly appreciate that. I ended up getting the hub out myself but the bearing was truly stuck - I took it to a machine shop around the corner and with plenty of heat and a 20t press got the stubborn thing out. New one pressed in easy peasy after.

Thanks again all.
