Hi, I want to change my disco 1 axles to regular Series 4.7 gearing and saw these 4.7 spacer rings at Ashcroft (and now many other places listed as Britpart - DA5712). I didn't know that this was even possible. I just want to confirm that it is as simple as using these spacers. Can anyone confirm? Does anyone have experience doing this?
Thanks
Dean

Sure if you are using them with a diff Center designed for the 3.54. But they are quite weak.

Ok thanks. I'm using 3.54 axles in a series 2a with oversized tires and its geared way too high. I will keep the 3.54 24 spline diff centers. I am aware that the 4.7 gears are thinner and weaker, but for now its the easiest way to go. I do have a 4.7 Salisbury rear that I may pair with the 4.7 disco front. Still havnt made that decision.

Ah. Well a stock Disco front is already full of really weak parts so this won’t make it worse.

Late to the party...
The spacer rings from ashcroft allow you to install 4.7 crown and pinion into rover diff with 24 spline center.
As easy (or hard) as setting up a "normal" rover diff. I've done 4 of them this way, modified Disco 1/RRC front and rear axle assemblies to fit in a Series 3, 88.
Also have a couple surplus spacer rings if any is looking!
