1952 Series 1 80 wheel cylinder compatibility
Im working on a a 52 Series 1 80". Looks like i need all 4 wheel cylinders. Does anyone know if the series 1 80" can use series 2 wheel cylinders? The parts for the 80" are pretty tough to find locally. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Try asking the Series 1 club forum.....lrsoc.com......may get the answer from a member.
Also, this may be a starting point (attached).

refer to page 8....references the part nos.
By the look of the numbers I don't think S1 and S2 are interchangeable.....stand to be corrected.
Last resort...if they are the original Girling....refurbishing is an option.

Re: 1952 Series 1 80 wheel cylinder compatibility
The 80” and S2 cylinders have different threads for the hose/line attachment. Otherwise they are identical. There are (or at least were) adapters available to allow the use of S2 cylinders with S1 hoses and connectors. These days I’d just use S2 cylinders and hoses, and change the hard line connectors to suit. If you are putting in all new lines, I’d go with S2 fittings throughout.

Great, thanks for the info. I may just use the series 2 wheel cylinders if can't source some Series 1 parts. Cheers

Ryan - Yes you can get new “S1” cylinders, but the only difference from S2 ones is the inlet thread type. The rest is identical. For that difference, they charge a 300% premium. Your choice I suppose.
