1967-68 Series gas pedal swap to or????
Soooo.. I have an inline six in my series and I would like to know if anyone has swapped, rerouted their gas pedal linkage? Any ideas even replacing with a non-LR would be greatly appreciated. The linkage that was used before was terrible and would not pass an inspection.

Hi
I have a left hand drive 69 Nada Dormobile with the 6 cylinder.
That throttle linkage set up has to be the worst I have ever come across, lots of direction changes (up down sideways across backwards forwards ) and the parts are made of plastic which over 50 years later will all have huge amounts of slack in them.
I went to a throttle cable set up (like most modern cars have) most good automotive parts places will build you a proper throttle cable set up for reasonable money with the correct ends and screw type adjusters.
There are 2 styles of cables ( solid wire which works better for pushing and pulling) and is normally used for a choke cable setup but works fine on a throttle as well, thats what I used. Springs on both ends.
Or stranded cable which mostly relies on the spring linkage at the carburetor end to pull the cable back to idle.
No matter which way you go you will have to build' brackets for the pedal and the throttle ends and figure out the amount of pull that works best for the carb and the foot pedal, it took a lot of experimenting. I had easy access to both ends with the fenders off, it would be a tough job doing it with the fenders on.

I put on a cable on my 2A for a while. I don’t remember why, but I went back to the linkage. I didn’t have my fenders off to do it, but that would have helped. I don’t remember the cable working any better or worse than the linkage.

Thank you Victor and Harv... I got to do some more research to make the decision. The fenders are still off.. my series so that will make things a littler easier to install.
